Nordstrom sued for allegedly misleading consumers

nordstrom-185A lawsuit filed against Nordstrom in the United States Southern District of California Court alleges that offers that the retailer pushed out to consumers via deal-a-day service Groupon violate federal and state gift card laws.

Comparing Groupons to gift certificates in this suit, the plaintiff, Anthony Ferreira, alleges that both Groupon and Nordstrom are violating California laws by printing expiration dates on the offers. The state has laws in place that prohibit expiration dates on gift certificates. .
