Rimowa's classics are reimagined through the lens of its contemporary by way of the collaboration.
In 1964, Rimowa introduced a Cabin Trunk, opting for a shell that could be conveniently stacked onboard train cars.
Most closely tied to this archival design, the Rimowa x Aimé Leon Dore Chest is exclusive to the drop and new to the company.
Using more of the features that Rimowa's customers are familiar with — TSA-approved locks, flex dividers and telescopic handles, to name a few — the Rimowa x Aimé Leon Dore Cabin employs the brand's trademarked multi-wheel technology, making transport a bit easier.
Of the items' shared elements, gold-plated hardware stands out. Finished with brown leather-made handles and straps and covered in a deep green shade, the color of its aluminum exterior nods to Aimé Leon Dore's signature hue.
Bespoke details like this continue on the inside. A print showcasing an assortment of ancient Greek stamps originated by Aimé Leon Dore is applied to a nylon-lined interior.
Complete with cobranded leather logo badges, the Rimowa x Aimé Leon Dore Cabin will retail for $2,670, and the Rimowa x Aimé Leon Dore Chest for $3,880.
