Hospitality name Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts is helping those in need.

French artist CÉVÉ created a spirited sculpture to be auctioned at 2024’s Make a Wish Ball, which took place at InterContinental Miami on Nov. 2. The money raised will go towards granting wishes for children with critical illnesses, a long-time mission of the American foundation.

Art for good
The annual ball is a glamour-filled fundraiser for the Make a Wish Southern Florida chapter, which services 22 counties in the state along with the U.S. Virgin Islands.

For the latest event, sponsored by IHG, CÉVÉ made a unique version of her well-known “Ball-Moon” sculpture – a shiny, playful teddy bear with a handful of balloons.

After working at The Louvre and as an eye doctor serving visually impaired and paralyzed young children, often using teddy bear imagery to calm them, CÉVÉ transitioned into creating art. She has since exhibited at galleries and art fairs worldwide, including at Art Basel.

Many of her pieces feature animals, and her Young Forever collection, which she began in 2018 and has become her most popular, features a stylized teddy bear. Her piece for the ball, filled with child-like wonder, is perfectly suited to the foundation’s mission.

This year marked the Miami ball’s 29th event, which also featured a performance by Grammy award-winner Gwen Stefani. Over its lifetime the ball has raised $42 million to help grant 14,000 wishes for more that children in South Florida.
