
Google's Android is on pace to compete head on with Apple's iOS next year when it comes to app downloads if recent download rates continue.
There was a significant jump in mobile app downloads and device activations during the November and December holiday period, according to two new reports. As a result, Flurry Analytics is predicting that Apple’s App Store will exceed 10 billion downloads in 2011 while the Android Market will more than triple its number of downloads to date for a total of over 10 billion cumulative downloads.
