Airline company Air France is embarking on a new venture.
The Cannes Film Festival partner and official carrier has settled in on the Riveria with an exclusive hospitality concept. From now through May 25, the international event's guests and global adventurers alike can experience fine French dining at La Plage, located on the Air France beach.
Fun in the sun
In more than four decades spent working with the festival, the brand has never hosted an activation in town. This year, things have changed.
The space is next to Hôtel Martinez beach on the Boulevard de la Croisette, down the street from the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, where the Cannes Film Festival ceremonies take place.
Whereas many of the week's events are invite-only, the Air France activation is open to all, a strategic move as the locale attracts more travelers.
The limited-time opening features a full-service bar and restaurant with options crafted by French Michelin-starred celebrity chef Jean Imbert. The culinary selection mirrors Air France's newly refreshed in-air menu (see story).

Among the amenities available to visitors are sunbeds, furniture and homeware from the Air France Beach collection, now live at the company’s online merchandise store for suitcases and travel accessories.
Open daily from 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., La Plage requires an advance reservation. On May 27, the last of two special flights—the first departed on May 13—providing direct service between Los Angeles and Nice will take off.
The Airbus A350-operated rides come equipped with the company's latest cabins, and answer growing demands from consumers interested in French Riveria spectacles such as the Monaco F1 Grand Prix.
